My work is strongly influenced by friends. It feels wrong to assign authorship to a single name since the work remains variable and highly contingent upon others. It is this contingency that drives the work forward.

The name ‘flights and fissures’ is lifted from the work of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. A line of flight refers to the act of disappearance which is similar to the vanishing point of a painting. A fissure is a narrow opening or crack which disrupts wholeness. These visual devices do not always influence my decisions but they exemplify a certain way of being which resonates deeply with my creative practice.

Neuro-Debts was read during the occupation of Green Park in Athens, Greece. The occupying group organized a week of performances questioning the political effectiveness of ‘the future’ as a concept and organizing principle. Neuro-Debts responded to this question with an experimental text combining notes on faciality, memory, and neuro-resistance. The text was later published in “Bricks from the Kiln” with images selected from the Exigencies archive.

‘Neuro-Debts’ appeared as one of the ‘inserted signatures’ gathered in the publication “Bricks from the Kiln #2” edited by Andrew Lister & Matthew Stuart. ISBN 978‐9956835‐0‐1, TTC‐106, November 2016, London.
